7 years ago, early in the morning I arrived at the hospital to deliver my firstborn. After 18 hours of intense, induced labor, too many drugs, and THREE hours of pushing, I gave birth to a beautiful baby girl. If I had to do it over again, I would have done it SO differently, but I would never change the outcome. Today she adds so much joy, beauty, and fun to our lives. Happy birthday to our sweet, smart, sassy, thoughtful girl!

| Birthday Girl in her birthday dress! |
Today is pretty crazy for me. We were up before 5, getting Hubby out the door. All the kids woke up early today, so we had an early breakfast, with the traditional {though primal} birthday pancakes and she opened one of the gifts from us. Then I had to make her birthday dress (should have done that weeks ago), and we did some school. I'm about to sit the kids down to a movie so I can finish sewing her other birthday present (for tomorrow's party), and then we're off to a playdate with her school friends. Tonight we're hosting a birthday dinner for our immediate family (parents and siblings with their significant others), which will be close to 20 people. So I have a {primal} dinner & cake to prepare, along with cleaning bathrooms and floors, and general tidying of the house. Sis has also requested streamers, so those must be hung, and her dress for tomorrow needs to be picked up from the cleaners. Not to mention the preparations still to be made for tomorrow morning's {primal} princess tea party! My mind is spinning, but it's going to be a fun day and weekend. I can't wait to share about our parties next week.
What do you have going on this weekend??
Happy Birthday to a fab little lady. We want to make the tea party, but lost the invite and address :( hope you see this and call me - my number is on Facebook. ~Marsha
ReplyDeleteSo glad you guys were able to make the party! Sorry it took me a bit to get back to you--there was some miscommunication there with Hubby getting the message first, and not forwarding it on. :-/
DeleteMy daughter will be turning 4 on Monday! :) I also gave birth at the hospital the first time. We did insist on no drugs and no interventions though, but I would still never want a hospital birth again. I really enjoying the birth center water birth with our second baby.
ReplyDeleteYou have your hands full with the parties! We go pretty low key for birthdays. We don't do big parties. We did visit grandparents today and my sister was there with her family and kids, I made a birthday cake, she blew out candles. She got two presents from them. We couldn't host at our house because it is a construction zone right now! But that's pretty much all we do, just family. On the actual day of her birthday we want to celebrate with just the four of us, no crazy party plans, running around, deadlines, rushing, etc. I'm no good with that. I don't enjoy hosting more than say 5-8 people at a time, so just one family at a time usually.
We don't usually do "big parties"--usually it's just family over for cake, et cetera, though we have a large family so that is close to 20 people. This weekend was our first actual kid party (not including a sleepover for our 11 year old foster daughter last year). It was a pretty busy weekend, but overall was great!
